HW Tutorial Series I
This is a super-basic level of tutorial aimed at giving just the basics to start using the HW program. The concepts upon which the program is based are extremely simple, and therefore allow a high degree of complexity in the outgoing product.
Part 1:
Spacebar, Modes, and Style Buttons
This gives the most basic Start-Up information for using the HW program in any web-browser. In summary: The spacebar makes the webpage "active", so that we can even use internal navigation links. This is a convenient method for drawing our webpage.
Part 2:
The "G" key, "H", "J", "K", and "L", and using the grid
This part tells us about Construction Mode, and focuses on the use of the "G" key which enables "Move Mode" on the keyboard and mouse. This also gives the basics of movement from the keyboard alone, and differences relating to alignment.
Part 3:
Deleting things with "X" and Restoring them with "P"
Here we focus almost completely on demonstrating the deletion and restoring regiment of the program. This is always done with the caps lock turned on (construction mode). We show how nothing is really ever permanently deleted.
Part 4:
The "T" key and working with the Three Colours System
This tutorial shows the immense value of the three colour system, and how it integrates with all other elements of the HW program to allow extreme convenience for handling many problems posed by HTML visual design.
Part 5:
Document Flow Using "V" and Navigating Using the Keyboard
The basics of using the "V" key to control document flow order are given. We also give some mild discussion about using this idea in combination with the three colour system via "Shift + V". The effect on our HTML outcome is exposed.
Part 6:
"Z" Stacking Order and Interplay with the "V" key
To complete our brief exposition of the HW HTML drafting system, we round out our tutorial series with examples of harnessing the "Z" stacking order. Interplay between this ordering system and the document flow ordering system are specified.
Part 7:
Quitting, Saving, and Opening
Basic Quitting Saving and Opening of files into the program is shown. Incoming files always install their names, with the date-time stamp on the outgoing saved files always being accurate. Files only need to be named once, and subsequent saves are always with a date-time stamp and into the browser "downloads" folder, or are controlled through browser settings.
